Introduction
Vivek Vahini, an extension unit of ‘Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samittee’ (A committee for eradication of superstitions, sponsored by the Government of Maharashtra) is formed on 27th September 2002 with the objective to create and cultivate scientific attitude amongst students and community.
This unit in the college which aims at the eradication of superstition and promotion of scientific approach works in consistent collaboration with the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti. Periodic meetings and group discussions are held on behalf of Vivek Vahini, and assistance of the social workers of Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti is sought for the same.
Objectives -
- To encourage the volunteers to work for eradication of superstition and promotion of scientific approach amongst the society in collaboration with the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti.
- To organize Periodic meetings and group discussions on behalf of Vivek Vahini, and assistance of the social workers of Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti
The following are the activities conducted during 2013-14
- Organized a rally against the assassination of Late Dr. Narendra Dabholkar (Eradication of Superstition) on 21st Aug 2013.
- Organised a lecture by Shri Krishnath Kore, leader of Eradication of Superstition, Maharashtra State followed by tree plantation in college surrounding on 28th Aug. 2013
