Relevance of the topic

Higher education in 21st century all over the world is talking about quality in higher education. Excellence, quality, effectiveness all such words have become the watchwords of the century.

The position of Director, BCUD requires such suitable and appropriate orientation and focus towards quality. This position demands key role for overall improvement of the departments on the campus and the large number of affiliated colleges.

My research is directly related to TQM in the administration of higher education. I feel my experiments regarding application of TQM in college administration will help me a lot to work with University administration.

  • Overall quality improvement of the college having the student’s strength of 3300 (which was 1100 at the time of my joining) during my tenure.
  • The college has successfully completed 2 cycles of NAAC accreditation.
  • Presently, the college offers B.A., B.Com. and B.C.A. courses along with 4 COC Courses.
• June 1984 to August 1999 (for 15 years) - As a Lecturer –Lecture in Commerce at Mahavir Mahavidyalaya, Kolhapur –

• More than 50 Lecturers delivered in Special lecture series on the theme ‘Globalization and Share Market’, ‘Globalization and Indian Economy’ organized by ‘Arthamanthan’, financial weekly magazine of daily ‘Sakal’ at different places in South Maharashtra during 1993-1996.
• Attended as chief guest for Prize Distribution Ceremony and Farewell functions of different High schools and Colleges and had delivered a speech on different subjects.
